The village of Saint-Jean-le-Thomas

The village of Saint-Jean-le-Thomas

Located on the west coast of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, the charming village of Saint-Jean-le-Thomas enjoys a privileged setting. Nicknamed the Little Nice of the Manche, it lies halfway between Granville and Avranches.

For more than a century, painters and sculptors have drawn inspiration here, captivated by the unique light and the exceptional views of Mont-Saint-Michel and the islet of Tombelaine. Sheltered from the wind by the Champeaux Cliffs (a protected site), the wide stretch of fine sandy beach provides an ideal setting for relaxation, swimming, or quiet contemplation.

Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted: the coastal GR 223 trail runs through the village, making it easy to reach the beach while enjoying local life. Shops and services—bakery, restaurants, café-tabac, grocery store, and public garden make a stop in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas both friendly and pleasant.
